Shipping Policy

This policy explains where we ship, how long an order takes to leave us, how long it takes to reach you, what it costs, how to track it, and what happens when a parcel goes missing or turns up damaged. It applies to every order placed on premiumdrops.store.

Where we ship

We ship to all fifty states, plus the District of Columbia [confirm Puerto Rico, Guam, and the US Virgin Islands]. [Confirm whether orders outside the United States are accepted. If they are, the customs paragraph below applies.] We cannot ship to a freight forwarder, and we may cancel an order that names one, because we cannot support a claim once a parcel leaves the country.

How long we take to pack an order

Most orders are picked and packed within one to two business days. Orders that reach us before [cut off time] on a business day usually leave the same day or the next. Business days are Monday to Friday, and they do not include public holidays. An order placed on a Friday evening or over a weekend starts its clock on the next business day. A sale, a holiday rush, or a stock check on a large order can add a day, and we will write to you if anything holds your order up for longer than that.

How long delivery takes

Standard delivery reaches most addresses in three to seven business days once the parcel leaves us. [Expedited delivery takes two to three business days, and next day delivery arrives the following business day when the order is placed before the cut off. Confirm which services you offer.] The delivery estimate at checkout counts business days from dispatch, not from the moment you press pay, so add the packing time above to work out the full picture. Remote addresses, Alaska, and Hawaii take longer than the rest of the country.

What shipping costs

[Confirm the rule: free standard shipping on every order, or free above a set order value.] Where a charge applies, the exact amount appears at checkout before you pay, and it depends on the weight of the parcel, the service you pick, and where it is going. Sales tax is worked out at checkout by state and county rules and is shown on the same screen. We do not add a handling fee or any charge that you cannot see before you pay.

Tracking your order

We email a tracking link as soon as your parcel is scanned by the carrier. The link can take up to 24 hours to show any movement, because carriers update their systems in batches through the day, so a quiet link on the first evening is normal. If the email has not arrived, check your junk folder and any promotions tab, then write to us and we will send it again. You can also find tracking in your account if you opened one at checkout.

Getting the address right

Please check your address before you pay, including the apartment, unit, or suite number. Carriers deliver to the address as typed, and a missing unit number is the most common reason a parcel goes astray. If you spot a mistake, write to us at once. We can change an address while the order is still with us, but once it is scanned by the carrier the address is fixed and the parcel has to run its course. Orders sent to an address you gave in error are treated as a return once they come back to us.

Delays we cannot control

Once a parcel is with the carrier, the timing is in their hands. Storms, floods, snow, road closures, sorting backlogs, staff shortages, and the weeks around major holidays all add days. Delivery estimates are estimates, not promises, and we cannot refund shipping or cancel an order because a carrier ran late. We will always help you chase a parcel and open a case with the carrier on your behalf.

Late parcels

If tracking has not moved for [X] business days, write to us with your order number. We will open a case with the carrier. Carriers ask for a set waiting period before they will call a parcel lost, usually seven business days after the last scan for domestic services, and we cannot skip that step.

Lost parcels

When a carrier agrees that a parcel is lost, we send a replacement at no cost, or refund you in full if the item is out of stock. Claims have deadlines, so please tell us within 30 days of the last tracking scan.

Parcels marked delivered that you cannot find

This happens more often than people expect. Check around the porch, the side gate, the mailroom, and with anyone else at the address, since carriers sometimes hand a parcel to a neighbour. Wait a full 48 hours, because a parcel is sometimes scanned before the driver finishes the round. If it still has not appeared, write to us within [X] days and we will file a claim. [Confirm your policy on theft after delivery, since carriers often refuse these claims and the cost then falls on the store or the customer.]

Damaged parcels

If the box arrives crushed, torn, or rattling, photograph it before you open it, then photograph the item inside. Send the photos to info@domain.com within [X] days and we will send a replacement or refund you in full. Please keep the box and the padding until the case is closed, because the carrier may ask to inspect them.

Split shipments and back orders

A large order may travel in more than one parcel, and each one gets its own tracking link, so do not worry if the first parcel holds only part of the order. If an item is out of stock after you pay, we will write to you with a date, or refund that item and send the rest.

PO boxes and military addresses

We can ship to a PO box, an APO address, or an FPO address by [confirm carrier, usually USPS only]. Those parcels cannot travel by courier, so please pick the right service at checkout. Delivery to a military address takes longer than a normal domestic parcel.

Customs and duties

[Include only if you ship outside the United States.] Duties, import taxes, and customs fees are set by the country you live in and are not included in the price you pay us. The carrier collects them before delivery. If a parcel is refused at customs and comes back to us, the shipping and any fees are taken from the refund.
